Project description

Our approach to the campaign for Kappa Bash involved infusing social media with cell animation and motion design to create a dynamic narrative for their summer campaign. From conceptualization to illustration, each frame was meticulously considered. Teaming up with IamCreativ, we embarked on a journey to breathe life into Kappa Bash & Footgear’s brand narrative through 2D cell animation. The illustrations featured the popular South African Insta family @neodejenero, @olwe2lesh & @leshabaneboys, providing a unique and personal touch to the project. Through a seamless integration of illustrations, cell animation, compositing, and a striking 3D animation end shot, we successfully captured the essence of Kappa Bash’s brand in a visually compelling and transforming narrative.

Our Approach

Our campaign for Kappa Bash involved a detailed process that included multiple hand-illustrated frames, traditional cell animation, and compositing. We worked closely with experts in the field of 2D animation and cell animation to create an animated product that elevated the Kappa Bash narrative to a whole new level. The closing book shot was done using Cinema 4D (C4D) to ensure accuracy and added toon shaders to maintain the cell animated feel. Multiple illustrations were created to showcase the Kappa Bash shoes in different scenarios, and cell animation was applied to various characters and dynamic shots and locations. Several cutdowns of the 25″ video were made, focusing on individual characters and the family. Overall, our process aimed to deliver a dynamic and engaging narrative that effectively communicated the Kappa Bash brand message.
